LEARNTOR Foundation is a safeguarding-first youth development institution using ethical technology, mentorship and power skills to redirect underserved boys from vulnerability to productive futures.
A movement born in a Lagos classroom
LEARNTOR Foundation was founded by Mercy George-Igbafe in response to a growing crisis: rising unemployment, cybercrime and hopelessness among young males in underserved Nigerian communities.
Rather than wait for resources, the work began with personal sacrifice — including selling a laptop to fund early sessions. From that conviction grew TechUp Boys, our flagship initiative, now delivered in partnership with the Lagos State Public Service Staff Development Centre and the Ministry of Education.
What started as a community initiative is now becoming a durable institution — board-governed, evidence-led, and built to scale.
To equip 50,000 indigent boys aged 14–19 from underserved communities by 2030 — transforming their lives, families and communities through ethical tech and power skills.
To economically empower a generation of Tech Kings with the skills and character to thrive in the local and global market.
